In early 2010 I returned to the UK from my native Australia – a land where the issues around Climate change are much more ‘in your face’, obvious and present. My return to the studio started my own questioning of my practice as an artist mainly interested in and inspired by the landscapes around me. I began to put together my own proposal for an exhibition of my own work entitled Landscape of Change.
As the idea has evolved over 2010, I have decided that I would like to explore this theme alongside some other artists and to open up the dialogue. The invitation is out and I am excited to see what I get back in response. My interpretation around climate change will not be reflected in everyone’s interpretation and I am very interested to see what the phrase means to others. My main hope is that the show will be thought provoking, but not necessarily just along environment lines.
Thank you for your interest, perhaps we shall collaborate in the Landscape of Change show later on in 2011.
